Abstract

The satellite diagnostics of the changes of the water mirror area of the Lake Ebi-Nur (China), which belongs to the Balkash-Alakol lake system located in the deflection of the Turan plate, has been carried out. The 249 images of Landsat-5, 7, 8 period from April 2, 1990 to June 9, 2017 served as the basis for the restoration of the 28-year's dynamics of the lakes size. The comparison of the long-term variability in the sizes of Lake Ebi-Nur and Lake Balkash showed the close relationship between their regimes. The climatic variability of the Central Asian region seems to be the main factor synchronizing the dynamics of the fullness of the Balkash-Alakol lakes system.
