Abstract

In the article, based on the Atlas of Solar Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, promising areas for the development of solar energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan are presented. The identification of promising areas was based on the methodology developed and used by major international laboratories in the field of renewable energy NREL and IRENA. The theoretical and geographical potential of solar resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan was determined in the article. The ranking of the territory showed that it is advisable to use solar radiation as an alternative source of energy for the development of solar power plants.
