ABOUT THE PROCESS OF RIVER SEDIMENTATION IN THE QUATERNARY PERIOD OF CHATKAL-KURAMIN REGION

Chatkalo-Kuramin region emerged as a result of the newest tectonic movements that manifested itself in the resistance of the entire Neogene-Quaternary period. They determined the course of the erosive-accumulative activity of the rivers, which in turn determined the peculiar shape of the development of the young, loose quaternary deposits in the form of river terraces.
Most clearly, the flood plain is developed at the confluence of Pskem and Chatkal. The slopes of many terraces traced along the riverbed and lateral tributaries are developed on the surface of the floodplain as a basis for denudations.
